School Board Conflicts & Corruption

School boards are rife with corruption and undue influence from powerful special interests. What are they and how can we end them?

Issue Spotlight: Ethnic Studies

Ethnic Studies is a new course which sounds great - learning about different cultures and their contributions to California - but the reality is far different. In most cases (as we've seen in CUSD), Ethnic Studies becomes a critique of America as a country founded on racism, white supremacy and oppression, and it urges students to become activists and discriminate against others based on race, ethnicity, religion, etc. - under the guise of solving the inherent flaws of western democracy and capitalism.

The CUSD Board approved the course without seeing the curriculum or providing it to the parents for review, so we are continuing to fight for transparency and a balanced approach to Ethnic Studies which teaches an appreciation of different cultures and values instead of a hatred of America.

Below are several summaries of the course curriculum, articles and position letters from civil rights groups concerned about the curriculum in Ethnic Studies courses.

Recent Events

In October 2025, CEA participated in a panel discussion on how to provide every student with an excellent education. The panel and panelists provided a unique opportunity to present the information which underlies our organizational mission - eliminating the influence of special interests from public education who prioritize adults over students.
