Parental Rights

Up until recently, the goal of public education was always increasing parental involvement. Every study and assessment of education shows that students perform better when their parents are involved in the process.

However, recently public schools and some political activists have been fighting against the rights of parents to be involved in the education of their children, whether opposing policies to make curriculum available for review to supporting policies that require schools to keep information about students a secret from their parents.

Parents should always be prioritized in public education and in their children's lives. We will continue to support policies that promote the rights of parents and oppose the recent trends in California to remove parents from the education equation.
